Years and years ago, the world of Pokemon still young, there was a small island drifting off the coast of the main land. This was called Hisan, "the island of the unknown", as locals called it. Little ones, eager to go there someday, were told it was the scariest place that could ever exist, and that it was a bad idea to bring up the topic. This was most likely because it was believed that a giant, white Pokemon, similar to a bird, took up residence there. Now, this unusual Pokemon was never seen or even heard of until a gold-hungry explorer visited the island. He didn't return home, and when they went looking, all they found was his backpack. While there, the search party claimed to see the large Pokemon (that was mentioned earlier) quietly flying above the treetops. One even said it almost ate one of party members, but this was proven to be untrue. Since they couldn't find the explorer, they blamed it on the strange creature they saw, and left without the lost explorer, feeling satisfied they found the "monster" that supposedly ate him. Even though they didn't find any hard core proof that it was the white Pokemon, the whole of the main land's population bought it. That is, except for one.
